Big Heart: Living Stories
The name “Big Heart” has two meanings: It’s what physically happens to your heart when you have cardiomyopathy. It’s also what it takes to endure it, along with the many other hardships life can present.
From cardiomyopathy to other challenges along the way, I initially thought having a big heart would be my biggest downfall. But I’ve learnt that it’s my biggest advantage, and in many ways has helped me be positive and live life well.
I hope that through sharing my story and that of others, that you too can embrace your big heart.
Everyone has a story
About me

Hello. My name is David. I grew up in regional Victoria, Australia and have lived in Melbourne since my late teens. I studied as a biologist at university and have had lots of careers since. For the last few decades I’ve been a graphic designer and teacher in IT programs.
I’m a Dad to my beloved cat, Maya, and have been lucky enough to visit almost ever corner of the world. I have a a great love of photography and love to photograph animals and landscapes. My friends say I’m good at telling stories so hopefully you’ll enjoy what I share with you, and take something out of it that gives you inspiration, information or both.
